Goals are accomplished through Science: Forces and Interactions . Students will use plan and carry out their own scientific investigations to understand the physical world around them. Social Studies: Culture, Society and Identity . Students will explore different ways in which teams have been formed to express culture and benefit society. English: Building a Reading Life, Independent Reading, Mysteries, Paragraph Writing, Launching Reading and Writing Workshop . Math: Numbers and Operations in Base Ten, Operations and Algebraic Thinking . Art: Collaborative Art Installations. Drama: Collaborative Group Plays. PE: Teamwork and Collaborative Games and Personal Goal Setting. Music: Collaborative Song Composition. Vietnamese: Self introduction and talking about their family relationships. Focus on Learning by Subject Highlights of Learning Experiences Super Unit Launch: Team challenge; Students choose teammates; Students reflect upon teamwork/success. Field Trips: TBD (more info to come!) Guest Speakers: Community members with teamwork experience. Project: Becoming a highly effective team through goal setting and reflection practices.
